Fred -

There's a world of difference between "A number of people are using
it..." and "It is considered released...", especially when the
author/vendor of the software in question doesn't consider it to be so.

As to lathe facilities, the last word I heard on that front, from
someone closely involved in Mach/ncPod testing, was that the
characteristics of handling the USB port under Windows mean that
there is little chance of lathe being supported on the combination of
Mach/ncPod.
