The milk digitizer would have problems with convex objects. For
example the inside of a coffee cup digitized from the top. Depending
on your feed direction it would always be full or empty.
I don't think the level issue is all that hard. Use a tank with an
overflow and feed the object down into the milk. The object would
displace the milk into the overflow keeping the level constant. A
small pump could continually pump milk back into the bottom of the
bath to keep the level constant in case a hollow or taper in the part
required more milk.
