Link looks interesting, we have all used things like sintered bronze, I
never knew you could get such strength from these processes, then again the
material uniformity would be much better so stresses much more even
throughout the material.
As for fine taps though I am told these are still forged and the thread
rolled into them since uniformity of material isn't good for the stresses
they endure.
All interesting stuff though.

I believe he's referring to powder metallurgy, which is often used to make
end mills and other high-end cutting tools. It's like sintering, but at a
much higher pressure and temperature, which result in a solid and incredibly
