I did my 13X25 Jet lathe. I used a two start ballscrew on the Z axis and used my 600 oz in ametek ,to drive it. On the X axis I used the existing aceme leadscrew and direct drove it with another 600 oz in servo motor.
I can still use the machine in a manual mode or under cnc control

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Conversion/retrofit of lathe to CNC

Hello,

We just recently purchased a Jet 1340A belt drive lathe (13x40). We
would like to retrofit it so that it can be controlled with CNC using
stepper motors. Has anyone ever done this for this lathe? Or for any
other lathe in general?

Please let me know.
Thanks

Mike McWhinney
