Re:router spindle

Gerald,
I have looked at the Bosch options and can get an equivalent to the
Bosch 1617EVS here in Ireland. Also I have come across a company in
the US www.k2cnc.com that supplies spindle mounts to suit. Do you
think that I am on the right track or is the Bosch 1617 too much of
an overkill.

COLT (PRO20EVSK) has a full 1HP in a variable speed package and is
very compact in size and easy to mount. I have run a great deal of
oak with my SEARS version of the rotozip trim router. I use a Vbit
and cut up to .25" deep in oak at about 38~40 IPM. I think the SEARS
router was about $79 as a package deal with several router bases,
