A 2.5 mm depth of cut in anything doesn't sound like a particularly
heavy-duty job, but I have found that it is much better to buy a
high-quality, powerful piece of equipment than to constantly struggle with
an underpowered model. I think the Bosch would be very good for a CNC
router. I have seen several similar systems in various places, all
performing quite well.
I agree, and running cutting speeds of less than 100 inches per minute is
very light as well so you don't need a 15 Hp spindle to do the job. I service
industrial CNC equipment including routers and machining centers. Bosch had
routers have been used with good success in smaller CNC applications so I can
recommend them but you can't cut at speeds like 500 and up inches per minute
with them. However, keeping the depth of the cuts in small increments and
cutting somewhere below 100 ipm shouldn't present much problem at all with a
1+ Hp router motor.
