Flood coolant/cutting oil?

Hello, wondering if anyone in the group has experience using a type of cutting oil in there flood coolant reservoirs? I would like to get away from the rancid smell and maintenance that goes with water based coolants. I have a band saw, cnc lathe, and mill that I would like to find a good alternative for. I see they make a water soluble cutting oil. Does this go bad and start to stink? I would assume anything water based is going to have a short life if not used frequently and maintained. My machines may sit for weeks at a time without use. It would be nice to use them when I need to without having to deal with the stench or dump and refill for a once in while use.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
