Cutting helical gear - req for info

Hi All,
I would like to try to cut a helical gear like :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fps0OR1eF_s
I have noticed that it is using a simple v-shaped bit.
Could someone tell me which is the simplest/most recommended CAD & CAM
suite to draw and generate the toolpath/gcode which would be
executed by Mach3 ?
