OK, why go to all this trouble??? I would first consider a cnc router since you will get better corners and can cut more complex shapes. If you are just cutting squares/rectangles from panel cnc is probably overkill. Sometimes simple tools are faster and more cost effective than cnc beleive it or don't. If you want to have the blade move under power you might be able to build a single axis stepper driven panel saw that would serve your needs. Another solution is an ordinary stock feeder that you can buy or build.

I guess because I am a thing maker 1st and a machine builder at the bottom of my list I look for the best way to do the job. Although I think cnc can be the solution to many "making" problems it isn't for every situation. Think in terms of matching the method/tool/machine to the job at hand.
