Yes, you would then need to swap axes. When doing things like this, axis
designations start to get a bit difficult. You get the same problem with
machining centers where you may have several spindles or a rotary table
that can also be used as a spindle. And as for the situation where you
have a lathe head mounted on a pivot, the axis designations are anyone's
guess. Use whatever makes sense to you.
