Paul - With what resolution and rpm on the steppers ?
At even 0.01mm resolution (using microsteps, but lets leave that out for
now)
Thats 0.01 mm x 100 (==mm) x 1000 (==m) x 15 / 60 (==secs minutes to
seconds) = 1.5 M / 60 = 25000 steps /sec or 25 kHz.
At 1600 steps / rev = 16.625 revs/second or 937 rpm.
0.01 mm for wood router with 8 microsteps gives about 0.1 mm accuracy -
plenty good enough for wood.
What steppers do you use that you can get 16 revs/sec on only 24 V ?
Or do you use a lower resolution ie more gearing ?
