Yup, matches my experience. What is happening is there is no
swap file when installing, so it is paging out loaded code
modules and then immediately paging them back in from CD.
It would eventually finish, but that could literally take years.

I didn't do anything special, and I have some machines that will
NOT install with 256 MB. I suspect the more I/O drivers it
loads to match all the available hardware makes a difference.
Since it has a hard drive available, it COULD create the swap
file and start using it for a hard drive install, and that would
likely solve the problem. Then, it could page out data as well
as the pure code modules.
