Hmm, just had a closer look at the encoders.

Very cool, very cool indeed, both the built-in divider as well as the
mounting arrangement. I've had a less than 100% success rate mounting
HEDS-type encoders.

And since I have a pending Digikey order, uC coding may have to wait for a
bit.
