I can't vouch for Roger, but there definitely WAS a commercial machine
on the market,
maybe about 1999 or so, and advertised in trade magazines. It was
advertised for at least
2-3 years, and I think I got their literature packet with a little
rectangle of sample PCB
material. It looked much like a milled PCB except the substrate was a
translucent
plastic. The machine was fairly small, I suspect it would do about a 6"
square, and they
had a companion drilling machine. They also had some kind of modified
document
laminator to laminate the flex to a rigid substrate. I think maybe LPKF
bought them
out, and until I searched, I had no idea this technology had disappeared
from the market.
