Mini Mill Conversion or CNC Kit

Hi All,
for a while I've been interested in a little CNC. I finally have the space and would like to move on. I am now at a crossroad. Do I go for a Mini-Mill and then convert it with one of the numerous options available or do I instead purchase a kit such as this one: http://lumenlab.com/d/micro

Pricing would be in the same bullpark.

I tried to look for comparison of sorts of the 2 approaches but could not find any. I can't understand what's preferrable on one vs. the other.
I'd like to be able to work with different materials, from plastic to wood to metals.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Antonio
