The issues I see with carpet tape is removing fragile wood parts,
especially balsa and the tape leaving a residue if they could be
removed. I have used carpet tape with brass sheet with great success
but I don't think it will work well with balsa. I know the fragile
parts I make from basswood wouldn't take being ripped off carpet tape.

I guess I also don't understand what the difficulty is with using a jpeg
of the drawing for a bitmap back ground?
