A couple of hundred bucks really isn't that much of an incentive.
Commercially it gets you a few hours of development time, somewhat more in
Elbonia.

Someone recently complained about old Windows packages not being maintained,
but that applies to everything. No-one is interested in maintaining v1.3
that currently has 2 users and has been superseded by something better a
long time again. What can't I get Avatar on Laserdisc again? Or VHS?*

I should ask RedHat about installing the v6 CD I can see from here.

Of course FireFox is open source, so he should just quit whinging, pull his
finger out and update it himself, as we are constantly reminded. But if you
lack the time, skills, money or ability to convince someone else fixing it
is a good idea...

A fair chunk of my life is spend reverse engineering old crap, and good
riddance to it. Propriety, open source, stuff you've written yourself; it
all turns to crap eventually. Yeah, that attitude does conflict with my
general stance of being a tight-arse.
