That answer is, of course, "it depends" aka "who knows?".

The Makerslider wasn't designed for routers, so it's pointless asking if
it'll work. It won't. It was designed for a laser, so all it needs to do
is move a small lump of alloy with a little mirror & lens up & down. Any
similar light load will work, there's a video of the bloke using one as an
adjustable stop for a saw (just a slight bit of overkill).

As is with Delrin wheels on alloy, the wheels will wear. Switch to steel
wheels and the rails will wear.

People have built routers with steel wheels & rails from alloy plate and
claim they last. As always, YMMV.

If you want a build a heavy-duty router with that style of slide, either buy
them or make them as per www.mechmate.com.

The bloke who started the Makerslide did it just for the hell of it, he's
handed production & sales to another company (whether he gets royalties he
didn't say).
