Amen to that, I could not quit, made my living on code committees for years
and years and long time member of one of UL's committees. Not an EE but an ME
involved with plumbing, heating etc. Don't dig your well for drinking water
too close to your cess pool, that kind of thing. But, you would be surprised
how many ways to pollute the drinking water with industrial equipment, lab
equipment and even house hold appliances. I keep remembering UL and the NEC
one time "approved" aluminum for house wireing.
