G code software

I'm looking for comments and sugestions concerning an upgrade in my tool
path generation software. Currently I'm using Generic Cadd and Corel for
design, Corel to offset for cutter radius, Dancad3d to set Z depth and
Dancam to run the mill (converted Unimat SL). I also use Stepster when
handling g codes. Right now I'm mainly machining wax for jewellery models
so that while tight contol of absolute dimensions is necessary I also have
to be able to make small tweeks because the final piece just doesn't 'look
right'. Presently such little edits usually entail starting from the
begining again and the many transitions between programs have a tendancy to
change the scale of pieces.
I have been looking at demos and most converters don't seem to handle the
issue of cutter radius or don't seem to be that much easier to use than my
current system. (I am very fussy about the 'feel' of programs) One package
which looks possible is Vector, but it's hard to tell just looking at a web
site ( and reading Fred's posts). Some of you use Vector and any first hand
user comments would be appreciated. Any comments about other programs?
Thanks, Jeff
