Jeff,
I am a relatively new user of Vector CAD/CAM, and I love it! Fred can
do 30 day evals, but I'm sure you'll like the convenience of generating
g-code in a "second window" right next to the drawing you're working
on. You do the part, select the edge to cut, and generate a contour
with the appropriate offset, lead-in's and lead-outs's. The Z-moves are
calculated for you, and the convenience of moving the ORIGIN around at
will is great! Nothing like designing the part, only to find out you
need to reference (origin) a different corner of the part! Easy in
Vector. I don't think I saw that in BobCAD (I might have missed it).
But It's REALLY needed. I generate g-code for a Sherline mill. Pay the
money! You'll love it!
