To use the current version of laplink over several machines, you need to have one computer set up as a server. I tried installing both laplink and PC Anywhere and neither one works without having a server installed. Maybe that's 'cause I do my networkiing over twisted pair cabling using network cards and no server?

I have good results just using an old copy of laplink V3 on both
machines to transfer data over a 4 core phone cable.
Anything later that V3 seems to have trouble with a DOS to Windows
setup.

Thanks for the tip. I'm building a CAMSOFT driven machine next and it has
no file size limitations that I am aware of. It's running off of win98 so I
will have Ethernet to my cad work station etc. I did not see Fred's
reference to the contest. I would have entered if I had but honestly, I have
Rhino 1.1 and bobcad 16.1, may get Bobcad 17, have Millwizard, Camsoft's
front end, Autocad 14 3d commands and many other smaller packages to get
proficient on. It's a daunting task. After I get some of these running a
little smoother, then I can do justice to a package I buy or win :)
Thanks Again,
Peter
