The EIA RS-274D standard is for g code, and assumes axis definitions.
I have a copy of the axes definition and naming standard, but I don't
remember its' exact title and I can't get to it just now. Most CNC
textbooks are pretty good about this aspect, if not generally very
good otherwise. Or read my previous posts. Axis names is one of the
FEW areas of CNC where nearly everyone agrees...
