Pull off the four allen cap screws looking at you on the bearing plate at
the front of the y axis.

Crank out the screw with the hand crank. It screws right out of the split
acme nut.

There are four (as I remember) screws camming the split nut apart. You can
loosen them a bit to make the screw go in or out easier.

If you want to remove the nut after you remove the camming screws and
plate, just push the table back toward the column, or lock it a few inches
away from the front.

The screw just ends, no support, nothing to block it coming off the nut or
going back into the nut.

There isn't a lot of room for big hands in there. I use long reach allen
wrenches.

Be careful and slow.
