I think I found the how, I am just not yet willing to invest the time to
make it work. If you search for Afterstep on the Redhat sight you will get
some info and you can do a:
man afterstep
in Linux and get even more info (use "q" without quotes to exit the man
page).

There is also a utility called wmconfig (window manager config) that seems
as if it is what you use to make it easer to handle and there was another
reference to a different utility I don't remember.
