to be non-conductive (try using water and see what a mess you get) and also
free flowing so that it can be pumped down the centre of the electrode. I
haven't tried this but it is recommended to clear the eroded metal away
from the spark site. Parafin/Kerosine was mentioned in a book I read as it
is readily available and has a much higher flash point than other easily
available fluids. It still needs to be treated with respect. No doubt the
commercial fluids are non- flammable?
