Tom was a big help to me when I was writing some QBasic code to access his
card design. Wish he was still active on the list.
If you want to interface a micro to an encoder you can either use a chip
like the USDigital LS7266R1 (this is what is used on the Kulaga designed
card) to handle the encoder counts and then read it from the micro or if you
can get by with 1X quadrature you can easily handle the encoder directly in
the micro.
I understand the problem of not having enough time. I think for every
project I get finished I come up with 3 more to do.
