There is another trick that would work as well....we use it on the mill at
school. You could use a "repeating" cycle using the tooling set to it's
final position to eliminate tool resets. Program the final tool path, copy
and paste the path for the repeats and change the necessary tool position
depth in the G-code for each rough pass desired. Granted it takes a tiny
bit mork work for programming...but it only needs to be done once.
