Here BEST is undefined. I think we should stay off this topic in
this list as it may degrade to something much different rather
quickly. Strads are very good by any standard. Music books are
not generally authoritarian. Tests may be defective.... etc.

I mentioned this item to my wife who is a PhD in music and an
authority on musical instruments who gave me at least 15
parameters in 45 seconds that would have to be part of such a
test of the above hypothesis. And, no, she doesn't think Strads
are more than just "among the best" however best is defined. But
they certainly are the most expensive.
