Steve,

The motors are possibly too big physically! the 23's are a better fit
there. As for the torque, 70 oz/in on a Sherline (20 tpi) is about the
minimum, and you have 10 tpi leadscrews. So I'm thinking you still
could use 150 oz/in or so. 1/4" shafts on the lead screws? Hook 'em up
and see how the axis move!

I DON'T believe the 30 oz/in would do at all. IMO ;>)
