A late Christmas present from my wife finally showed up in the mail
the other day. She bought me the three volumes of Guy Lautard's
Machinist Bedside Readers. Definitely one of the better, if not best,
Christmas presents I've gotten since I got married. Lot's of good
stuff in these books, not about CNC, but machining in general.

To keep this slightly on topic for the group, in the second book
there are details on building a spring loaded scribe that can be
chucked into a mill. The guy that provided the details used it when
milling intricate shapes as a trial run for the tool path. Visually
confirming the tool path on the real machine sounds like something
that might be handy occasionally in the CNC world.
