How thick is the MDF, Plywood etc you are planning to cut? A 1.5 Hp motor
sounds very small unless you are planning to cut at very very slow speeds,
and that includes the spindle speed. Typically you would cut those materials
at 12,000 to 20,000 RPM and feed speeds of up to 300 inches per minute in
order to get clean burn free cuts. Typically the smaller and less expensive
machines have at a minimum 3 HP and 7.5 to 10 Hp is preferred, especially if
you are ever going to consider cutting solid wood.
