Good drawing!
I see what a Heim is now. A ball joint. The program I'm working on
(first) is a simple controller. Later I might write a program
specifically for scanning.
The program uses MaxNC's parallel port pinout (step/dir is better), and
pin 13 is an input signal (Select). Driving it from a mechanical switch
shouldn't be a problem, a 1k pull-up resistor might be used, the signal
would then go HI when the circuit opened.
Can your probe be made small enough for a sherline?
