Hi Ken,

I thought about the same thing, float v. plate. I called the local glass
retailer and he said that "anymore all glass is floated". It was a quick
reply, so maybe he was blowing me off. I know that there was a difference,
maybe not anymore.

My application involves using the glass as the surface upon which I build a
wet lay-up of composite fibers(glass, aramid, vectran,..) and core material.
After everything is layed up, various sheets of vacuum bagging material are
layed on top followed by an outer plastic layer which is sealed down to the
glass surface with a sealing tape. A vacuum is drawn inside of the bag &
viola;) baguette de composite.
