The motor TM98MTR3118 looks like it would be compatible, but is much too
small for most machine tool applications. It might be able to handle a Sherline,
though. You would get 2000 quadrature counts/revolution with a 500 cycle
encoder. This motor has a shipping weight of 2 pounds.
