Ballendo: I did have a Z axis problem a while back using CNCPro. I was
turning a part on my lathe and the z axis took off with the rapidity of
unleashed beagles. The movement was not in the gcode and I have now made
multiple parts with the same file without problem. If It had been a
finish cut, it would have scrapped a very expensive piece of
work.Fortunately there was enough material left to clean up the gouge. I
believe I also had a similar problem on my Bridgeport. I was deep
drilling/boring large diameter holes using an angle head and using the x
axis as the z axis(swapped leads) so that I could use the peck drilling
capabilities. Once or twice it slid the clamped down work down the table
before I could shut it down.
For the most part, I am pleased with CNCPro ,but I must say that I am a
little nervous when doing final cuts.
