Yes Jon,
The lead angle doesn't matter because as the thread is being
generated it's forming at the same angle. If the insert is thick in
relation to the sixe of the hole then I suppose it could interfer but
I havn't seen any evidence of that.
If you had this problem it would be an easy job to back the trailing
edge off.
