I got Emc up and running. It only took about 3 hours from start (loading
linux) running Tim's script and loading and installing the emc files. I
spent more time trying to get the emc.run files to work then it did to load
all the software. I finally d/led Matts .ini and .run files and made the
changes and it worked!!!!
I will connect it to a controller in the next day or so and see how it
performs.

Don't be misled by the above. It wasn't as easy as that sounded. Previosuly
I had
run into numerous problems especialy with modems. I never did have the video
problems. I plan to do a lessons learned report that hopefully will fill in
some gaps and help others get their system up.

BTW Peter mentioned that it would be great if someone would come up with a
complete system ready to run. I have toyed with the idea of picking up some
surplus PC and load linux and all the software. The pc would be equipped
with a keyboard,a mouse a 17" sony monitor, a 75-90 Mhz Pentium CPU with a
1gig HD a floppy and 32mb of Ram
I think I can pick up a pallet load of these systems for a reasonable price.
The biggest problem I see would be packing them for shipment.
If there is enough interest I may take this task on. I also will see if it
may be better to just buy new stuff and assemble a batch of systems. If
interested send me some email.
