Guys,
You did not read my post a few days back about wheel dressing.
You don't use the traditional point type dressing tool, you use a dressing BLADE like the ones sold by Norton. The dresser is
also a high speed grinder going the opposite direction. This allows you to cut faster, no chatter, and are able to cut steep angles
and very small radius impossible with the old stubby diamond dressers. It also eliminates the danger of exploding the wheel like
the old dressing points. (you better be pretty damn careful!!)
The resolution yes does have to be higher but we are talking about very small travel envelope and low cutting forces. You could
easily use a micrometer type feed of no more than 2" by 2" or less.
I plan to build one of these babies as soon as I get a surface grinder.
