To add to this, what Jon describes above will happen faster than you can
react. It's not like chatter in a turning operation.
I wasted a wheel grinding the end of a fairly long part, with inadequate
support. Didn't hand grenade the wheel, but did take a chunk out of it.
One instant I was grinding, the next, I was wondering what happened to
my part and what was that noise...
