It depends on what part of the stepper cycle you are looking at. You could
use a 10:1 voltage probe and look at the waveform after the transistor on one
end of a 'unipolar' drive turns off. With bipolar drive, there is always some
transistor on in full step mode, so it becomes harder. There, I guess a
current probe would work best.
