Alan,

Hi. A Pittman will do. Actually you don't want it to add load; you
are trying to measure the behavior of the test motor, not anything
else. The Kv is definately linear but measure it at a fairly high
speed. If you drive the DC motor with a variable current source after
having carefully calculated its Kt, you have the beginings of a
dynamometer.
