Ha ha ha, funny you should mention backup. This reminds me of something I
read in Focus.
This internet firm discovered that many of the customers were just as
worried about data being physically stolen form the servers (I.e the server
itself is taken). So this old airbase was up for sale in the UK and this
firm bought some of it. It has these massive concrete bunkers under it and
they store the servers in there. The only way in is through what looks like
a vent. Power is from an internal generator, the line going to the grid is
filtered to stop it being tapped by people outside the building (Who could
listen in to the servers through the outside power should they be using it).
There are steel caged airlocks to prevent any sort of EM bomb or attack from
inside the lock. The entire bunker is lined to prevent interferrance or EM
attacks. There is a back up power system and then a back up in case the back
up doesn't work. The server rooms are restricted to everyone except one or
two people working at the bunker. Even staff from the company owning the
server can't go near them. So obviously whatever is on them must be pretty
important stuff to warrant all that. It's proberly the Groups server for
Yahoo! `.^)
