It does look simple and could probably be made in the home shop.

What I don't understand is the threading aspect? They give 0.5
to 180 TPI. How do they coordinate the Z-axis movement with
headstock rotation?

Also, I wonder if anyone has downloaded the software. It can be
downloaded easily, but what about setting it up? That is, are
they giving it away? No instructions for keycode or anything and
that seems strange.
