You can look in machinery's handbook for the basic chart, after that some times it is trial and error. I haven't sat down w/catalogs
of insert mfgs. to see if they have insert dims. but they might. I'll add that I have had much better life with the top grade
inserts than w/cheapies but I also buy on sale generics from MSC and they are usually OK.
