Nice post!
Your process uses a "female" mold.
You can also do this with a male mold, by dipping in Whatever goop is
appropriate. You will either need to use a material which will
stretch far enough to be pulled free of the mold, or make the mold in
parts, so it can be removed from the inside (like those used in metal
spinning closed forms). Advantage is that the mold is eassily made on
a lathe, and the bellows wall thickness is pretty controllable. Years
back I did some of this kind of molding for model aircraft parts. I
dipped, then placed the mold on a "rotisserie" so it would dry in an
even coat/thickness.
