Hi Jeff,
Since I ordered my Mill/Drill without the stand from Enco, I built my
own with structural tubing for legs and a 12GA top/drip tray. I just
cut out a rectangle under the machine base, staying inside the mount
pattern. If I want to use flood coolant, I can just seal around the
base to the tray. There is no way to install a nut mount for the Y
axis without having access to the bottom of the base. I also
converted to CNC 3 axis, with the 4th on the way, and things are
running very well. By the way, for the Z axis, a NEMA34 frame will
fit nicely up inside the casting behind the quill to power a
leadscrew connected to the quill collar.
Enjoy,
Allan
