I am using xemc.
I suspect kernel problems because if the system sits idle waiting for a
login it eventually displays the message "lost jiffies". About every 30
- 45 minutes it will display the message again.

This is the same kernel and patch I am using. My system is an AMD K-6
300MHz.

I'll try a different GUI. If that doesn't help I'll try the 20-Dec-1999
version of EMC. If that doesn't fix it then I'll go borrow the BDI cd
from Tom Eldredge and try that.

If that doesn't fix it I'll just have to cut my parts real quick before
the system hangs. :-)
