chips for Linux systems. I believe there are kernel patches for 2.0.x
kernels to support AMD and Cyrix CPUs better. You might check that.
There is also a floppy-bootable memory test program that may be of
some use in detecting system problems.
I don't know whether different EMC versions will be much help.
Do you have an un-patched (non-real time) kernel left? I keep my
stock CDROM kernel around for comparisons. Does that kernel ALSO
show the jiffies message, or have any other problems?
Tom Eldredge? Are you also in Missouri? I'm in the St. Louis area, and
went to UM-Rolla for 2 years (a long time ago).
