curious, I was looking at exactly a package while surfing at lunchtime on
Friday ! Firstly, there is an EXCELLENT application called "Touch-3D" from
Lundström Design in Sweden. Essentially, you produce the 3D model in you
favourite CAD package, and it will burst it into a 2d net to produce the
item - there are examples on their website for cars, yachts, boats, hot-air
ballons etc - even a ventilator cowl :-)
I have tried a demo a while ago using Vectorworks as the CAD package (my
favourite 2D/3D CAD package for the Mac or PC !!) - couldn't be simpler.
